USDA NRCS has been using the IMPLAN model for calculating economic impacts of conservation expenditures for 25 years. This presentation describes regional economic impacts, economic multipliers, the economic impacts of NRCS conservation practices, and new guidelines for calculating, reviewing, and publishing the results. The request, calculation procedures, and public release information to quickly use this data for working with partners and the public will be discussed. Attendees will understand how to quickly obtain economic impact information for NRCS and other conservation expenses.
